Pinstripe Suit are performing at, the recently renovated, Dragons Hall in Norwich and playing for a 1940's themed wedding at the beautiful Voewood stately home.

May 2008: Robin's new prestigious gigs
Robin will be performing in the famous Georgian restaurant in Harrods on Wednesday 21st May. He will also be performing twice at the famous portman Square hotel, The Churchill in their bar on the 3rd and 10th of May.
April 2008: Robin Phillips trio playing return to Shanghai Blues.
Robin's trio, featuring vocalist Kirsty Jarvis, will be performing at Shanghai Blues on Saturday 5th of April.

February 2008: Robin has a new gig at the Waldorf hotel, London.
Robin will be playing in the champagne at the famous Waldorf Hotel throughout this month. Come down and see him on the 11th, 18th, 21st, 27th and 28th of February.
January 2008: The new year kicks off to a flying start with new prestigious gigs.
Robin well be playing on New Year's day at the historic Simpsons on the Strand and then doing solo performance at the Smollensky's on the Strand.
December 2007: Robin Phillips Trio opening new cruise liner.
Robin's trio will be opening Cunard's newest cruise liner, The Queen Victoria, during the Royal inaugurial weekend.
November 2007: The Robin Phillips Sextet returns to the Sheringham Little Theatre.
The jazz ensemble will be performing a specially arranged evening of music looking at the pivotal jazz albums of 1959 - one of the most important years in jazz music.
October 2007: Robin signs with new agent.
This month, Robin audition and was picked up by one of London's biggest agents - Gary Parks Music. Gary Parks represents hundreds of musicians in some of the most prestigious venues in the UK. He is the sole provider of musicians for the Cunard cruise liners.
September 2007: Viva Viva
This month, Robin Phillips and Vilem Hais will be playing at Viva Viva live music bar on Sunday 9th September. Viva Viva puts on live music 7 nights a week.
August 2007: PJs, Covent Garden
Robin will be playing two solo performances at the popular Pjs of Covent Garden on Thurdsay 2nd and Thursday 9th of August from 10.30pm.
July 2007: Robin relocates to London
After 10 years of Living in Norwich, Robin has moved to London following an increased demand for his performances in the capital. Robin and his ensembles will continue to perform in both London and East Anglia.
June 2007: Jazz at the Swan, Poringland.
The Robin Phillips Quartet featuring Kirsty Jarvis will be performing for the Jazz at the Swan series. The performance will take place on Thursday 21st June at the Swan in Poringland.
June 2007: The Sextet debut their 'Great Singwriters of Jazz' program.
On Sunday 24th June the Robin Phillips Sextet will perform their specially arranged program at the Sheringham Little Theatre. The program will look at the music of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Rogers and Hart.
May 2007: Robin plays at Vinopolis in London.
Robin will be performing at the famous wine museum on the South Bank, Vinopolis, as part of their jazz progam. The performace will take place on Friday 18th May.
April 2007: The Robin Phillips Trio featuring Kirsty Jarvis to appear at the successful Jazz at the Swan
Robin and his trio will be joined by Pinstripe Suit's lead singer, Kirsty Jarvis, for a jazz programme devised for the 'Jazz at The Swan' series of events in Poringland. April 2007: More performances announced at the Sheringham Little Theatre
Following the popularity of the upcoming 'Jazz Across the 20th Century' performance at the Sheringham Little Theatre, Robin's ensemble has beenasked to put together two further programmes for the prestigeous North Norfolk venue. The Robin Phillips Sextet will perform 'The Great Songwriters of Jazz' on Sunday 24th June and a concert entitled '1959' on Saturday 24th November. The '1959' concert will look at five seminal jzz albums that were released in 1959, including John Coltrane's 'Giant Steps', Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue', and Charles Mingus' 'Mingus Ah Um'.
March 2007: The Robin Phillips Sextet heads into the studio
Robin and his six-piece ensemble went to The Lodge recording studios in Northampton to record the group's new EP this month. The band recorded in a variety of ensembles from solo to six-piece and covered songs including Loverman, It Don't Mean a Thing, Mr P.C. and a new arrangement by Robin which medleys Mack the Knife, When the Saints and In the Mood. MP3s will be available from this websitge soon.
March 2007: Robin appears on BBC TV London
Robin appeared on BBC London this week in a news item looking at songs about London. The news article was looking at songs about London in the run up top the 2012 Olympics and asked Robin to perform Maybe It's Because I'm A Londoner at his regular performance venue, The William IV pub in N1.
February 2007: Robin performs live on Roy Waller's BBC Radio Norfolk show
Robin was invited to perform live on Roy Waller's radio show this week following the announcement of The Robin Phillips Sextet's upcoming performance at the Sheringham Little Theatre in April. Robin performed Maple Leaf Rag and Monk's Mood as solo pieces to demonstrate the variety that the ensemble will be playing at the gig. The pieces and interview are available to listen to via the media page.
February 2007: The Robin Phillips Sextet to headline a special performance at the Sheringham Little Theatre in April
Robin and his six-piece ensemble will perform a special jazz programme at the Sheringham Little Theatre on 21st April. The programme entitled 'Jazz Across the 20th Century' will focus on the great composers of jazz music. In a packed programme the group will cover compositions by composers including Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Julian Joseph and EST. January 2007: New regular solo performances for Robin in London
Robin will be playing regular solo performances at two London venues. Long-standing Covent Garden restaurant PJs has asked Robin to perform twice a month and upmarket Chinese restaurant Mr Wing in Earls Court has also asked Robin for regular performances. See the gigs page for dates.
November 2006: Robin is front page news in Time Out
Robin (and pub sing-alongs) are the number one thing to do in London according to Time Out's front cover feature about keeping entertained in London. Robin took part in a photo shoot and appears in the number one slot in a feature entitled '101 Things to do in London' in the November 15th issue of the famous magazine. September 2006: A new regular solo gig for Robin in London playing traditional jazz and pub music
Robin will be performing every Wednesday at the new William IV pub in N1. Robin has been asked to play a range of traditional jazz and popular pub favourites to compliment the pub's fantastic ambience. See the gigs page for more information.
August 2006: Public gigs lined up at the Hog in Armour in Norwich
Following a busy summer of private performances, Robin's function group, Pinstripe Suit, has been asked to perform regularly at The Hog In Armour in Norwich's city centre. Quickly proving itself to be one of the top music venues in the city, Pinstripe Suit will bring popular vocal jazz and funk to the venue. See the gigs page for more information.
May 2006: The Robin Phillips Quartet becomes a Sextet
Following increasing demand for ensemble performances Robin has added two musicians to his existing quartet to make a six-piece band. The Robin Phillips Sextet, also known as Pinstripe Suit, now includes a female vocalist and a trumpet player. The ensemble is available for jazz venues, weddings, and functions, see the contact page for more information.
May 2006: JMT to perform at the Aldeburgh Festival
Following a sell-out performance alongside Roger Lloyd Pack at the Sheringham Little Theatre, the Jehane Markham Trio is to perform at the Aldburgh Fringe. Featuring Robin on piano and Graeme Howell on bass, the duo will accompany Jehane's original poetry and include the new 'London Series'.
April 2006: Twice-weekly performances at Ivory's restaurant in The Assembly House.
Robin is now performing twice a week in what must be Norwich's most beautiful restaurant. April 2006: Robin teams up with actor Roger Lloyd-Pack for the third time
Following great success putting the works of Keats and Blake to music. Robin and long-term bass partner Graeme Howell take the challenge of T.S.Elliot's The Wasteland in their latest project with the world-famous actor. April 2006: New material to be performed by the Jehane Markham Trio featuring Robin on piano.
Now a regular performing team, Robin and Graeme Howell continue their work with acclaimed poet and playwright, Jehane Markham. At their next performance in a double bill with Roger Lloyd-Pack on May 6th, JMT will perform their new jazz-poetry London Suite. March 2006: Robin teams up with two female vocalists
After a series of auditions in March, Robin has selected two female vocalists for upcoming duo gigs. Laura White and Kirsty Jarvis will team up with Robin for duo gigs throughout 2006. The first of these will feature Laura White on Saturday 13th May in a Jazz Night at The Assembly House in Norwich.
March 2006: The Robin Phillips Quartet is born
Following a month of searching and a series of auditions, Robin has announced the members of his new jazz quartet. An international line-up of musicians will take to the stage with Robin for gigs throughout 2006. Virtuoso saxophonist and flautist Matt Mckay heads up the group's front line, with Czech bassist Vilem Hais on acoustic bass and Chicago-born drummer Danny Howard keeping things swinging on drums. The group are currently in rehearsals and the first performance of the Robin Phillips Quartet is set for June.
Feb 2006: Robin looking for band members
An increasing demand for Robin to headline at events has led to the need for a band to be formed. Robin is looking to find energetic, talented jazz musicians on the following instruments: drums, acoustic bass, sax, and female vocal. February 2006: Performance at Reeds of Tombland
Robin returns to Reeds on Friday 17th February following popular demand after an earlier performance at the member's club in Norwich's Tombland.
February 2006: Valentine's special
Robin inspired an intimate audience on Sat 11th February when he performed a specially chosen set of classic jazz love songs at the Assembly House in Norwich.
February 2006: Great show
Magnetic attraction seemed everywhere this month, especially at The Magnets performances at London's Riverside Studios where Robin caught a performance of the great a cappella band, rubbing shoulders with Elle Macpherson who was also there to check out the group.
February 2006: A new start
Due to increased gigs and a desire to have more time for promoting and rehersing, Robin finally left his day job behind at the end of January to concentrate on his music career 100% in 2006!
January 2006: A flying start to the new year
January was packed with gigs with Robin, seeing him perform at Centre Parcs, every week at The Glasshouse chain of Wetherspoons, as well as regular gigs in Norwich. He also had time to check out Julian Jospeh's latest quartet performance (sans guitarist), an awesome display of ability as always and Mark Mondesir was absolutely jazzin' out on drums, surely one of the best jazz drummers in the world!
December 2005: Merry Christmas one and all!!
November 2005: New video demo recorded
Following interest from agents for work overseas, Robin was prompted to come up with a video demo to enable agents and venues to see him at work. Since it was done we thought we'd add it to the music page of the website for everyone's enjoyment, have a look and see what you think!
October 2005: More gigs
This month, Robin performed again with his poetry/jazz collective JMT and Roger Lloyd Pack at the River Studios in West Acre, Norfolk and also featured in a Jazz Dinner night at The Assembly House in Norwich.
October 2005: BBC Radio and website feature
Robin was interviewed for the BBC website this month and appeared on Andy Archer's BBC Radio Norfolk show on Sunday 2nd October (see media coverage for full articles and audio clips). Whilst on Andy's show Robin talked about his upcoming gigs and played tracks from his new album, The Last Bar.
September 2005: Robin featured in The Stage
The national entertainment newspaper The Stage featured Robin in its Show People section on 22 September. See the biography page for the piece.
August 2005: Norwich shops get behind the new album
Nine shops in the heart of Norwich are acting as outlets for Robin's new album, The Last Bar. Well established independent music shop Prelude Music, on St Giles Street, has included Robin's album in its new jazz section where it is selling very well. Wine bars, The Last Wine Bar and Bedfords, are also selling the album. Music shops including Music Room on St Benedict's Street, Elkin Music and Gibson Music are also stocking the CD. July 2005: The media cotton on to a good thing
Robin has been the focus of much media attention surrounding the launch of his new CD.He was featured in the EDP Centro supplement on Friday 15th July following an interview with feature writer Jon Welch from the paper. On the same day The Last Bar received three star approval from jazz reviewer David Wakefield in the Event supplement of the EDP. Robin performed live on BBC Radio Norfolk on the Graham Bernard show on July 1st ahead of the CD launch and was interviewed by BBC Look East TV presenter, Jenny Kirk. Pictures from the launch party were also featured in a special piece about the event in the EDP's Saturday supplement on 30th July. The monthly glossy Norfolk Magazine is also rumoured to be featuring Robin in an upcoming edition.
July 2005: The Last Bar is launched
Over 100 people attended the launch party of Robin's new album, The Last Bar, on July 16th. The event was held at Café Bar Marzano in The Forum in Norwich city centre where Robin performed tracks from his new CD and also took part in a signing session. The event was used to thank the many people that had contributed to the album and special guests were presented with unique framed versions of The Last Bar as mementos.
June 2005: New CD, The Last Bar, to be launched on July 16th

June 2005: Robin secures six months of regular slots at Norwich's premier piano jazz bar - Café Bar Marzano
From July, people can be sure to not miss performances by the UK's newest jazz sensation, following confirmation of regular slots for Robin at Café Bar Marzano in The Forum in Norwich city centre.
On the second Saturday of every month Robin will perform tracks from his new album, The Last Bar, as well as perform new solo piano and vocal tunes from 8pm.
On the last Thursday of each month Robin will perform as part of Adnams' new jazz nights at Café Bar Marzano. Each month Robin will be joined by another fantastic jazz musician as they delve into the world of jazz greats from last century. Already confirmed to join Robin are sensational young vocalist Rhiannon Bradbury, Czech Republic bass player Vilem Hais, and energetic trombone player, Chris Mills. June 2005: Robin's new website is launched
Robin's new website has been launched to accompany his new CD, The Last Bar.

It includes downloadable tracks from the new CD and opportunities for people to join the new emailing list to keep up to date with Robin's career. May 2005: Robin to perform with TV and film legend - Roger Lloyd Pack
As part of the Salthouse 05 festival, Robin will join with his favourite bass player Graeme Howell, to provide improvised jazz support to famed British actor Roger Lloyd Pack and published poet, Jehane Markham in Salthouse Church, North Norfolk on July 31st.
Roger Lloyd Pack's widespread UK fame was sealed following parts on TV such as Trigger in Only Fools and Horses and Owen in The Vicar of Dibly and has recently finished filming the new Harry Potter film in which he plays Barty Crouch.
Jehane Markham is a poet and playwright who has recently released her new poetry collection, 30 Poems.
Robin performs with Graeme and Jehane Markham in a modern poetry jazz collective called JMT (Jehane Markham Trio), in which Jehane's poetry performs a rhythmic role in the trio. See below for details of the group's recording to be available later in 2005.

May 2005: Robin snaps up new management as career takes off
Robin has joined forces with marketing expert, Tara Mallinson, to take his playing and recording career to the next level. Formerly brand executive at Adnams, Tara has stepped over into the entertainment business to help launch Robin's career onto the international jazz stage.
May 2005: CD artwork and design developed
Robin has teamed up with awesome young designer, Simon Griffith, to create the look of his new CD and promotional print work. Simon took an early cut of the album and the photography of Mark Tristam Lawrence and set to work to create the imagery for Robin's new CD, The Last Bar. Formerly a designer of rugby clothing at Samurai, Simon's work today takes him into a variety of different industries and he enters the world of jazz for the first time on this project.
April 2005: New solo CD finishes editing stages
Following months of recording, the editing, mixing and mastering of Robin's new CD, The Last Bar, was finished this week by GWR multi-award-winning radio producer Mark 'Brainz' Hitchings. Robin and Mark have worked together for years on different projects and Mark couldn't wait to take up the opportunity to work on Robin's latest album.
“My part was easy, the music and singing was so good to begin with, Robin nailed a great set of performances on the recording so there wasn't much for me to do when he sent me the original cuts. Robin's natural talent and ability made finishing the album just a simple process of cleaning it all up a little,” said Mark.
April 2005: The solo album is named
Robin's new solo CD, to be launched during the summer, will be called The Last Bar.
Originally with the working title of Me and My Piano, The Last Bar was felt to encapsulate the type of venues that would provide a suitable home for the music of Robin's latest recordings. The many different meanings of the title along with the image of a basement jazz bar in the early hours of the morning with Robin playing the piano in the corner helped to provide the new name for the CD.
March 2005: The Panel of Judges set to work
Early mixes of Robin's currently untitled new solo CD were passed to a select group of individuals for feedback and title suggestions this week. The CD was sent to a broad range of people of different ages and musical tastes for honest feedback.
March 2005: Recording takes place as part of JMT (Jehane Markham Trio) with new jazz arrangements
Robin has teamed up with his favourite bass player, Graeme Howell, and phenomenal British poet, Jehane Markham, to record an eclectic album which fuses solo poetry, jazz duo numbers and trio pieces in which Robin and Graeme support Jehane's poetry with arrangements of classic jazz standards.
Robin will perform with Jehane and Graeme in the summer and the CD will be available to buy later this year.

December 2004: New solo album recording finished
This week, Robin finished the recording of his currently untitled new solo CD. The final version will include over 12 new versions of jazz standards and will set the jazz world alight in 2005 when released in the summer.
November 2004: Photo shoot in Norwich's city centre as work starts on the visuals for the new solo album
Talented photographer Mark Tristam Lawrence and Robin hit the streets of Norwich this week to take part in a photo shoot for the cover design for Robin's new solo album. Norwich's famed marketplace, and the various parks in and around Norwich as well as the city's premier piano bar, Café Bar Marzano set the scene for the artistic shots which will form the back bone of the currently untitled new CD.
August 2004: Recording starts for Robin's new solo jazz album
This week Robin went into the studio for the first time in two years to start laying down tracks for his new CD. Having worked in varied jazz groups over the past few years, Robin has decided to take full control of his next project by working alone on a piano vocal jazz standards album. Recording is taking place at The Chapel and will also be worked on at the repmusic studios, both in Norwich.
